Lighting for Unique Applications: Trade Shows and Churches

Trade Show Lighting

The two most important attributes of your trade show lighting? Make sure they are lightweight and portable. The majority of booths will use clamp lights because they are versatile fixtures that attach easily to your display. They also highlight specific areas very effectively and can be used for general illumination as well. Clamp lights shine in any direction without taking up a lot of surface space. What type to use? Halogen and fluorescent lamps because they provide bright and efficient lighting. Plus, they are relatively inexpensive.

To give a dramatic look, use undercabinet lights to illuminate work surfaces. These attractive and low profile lights can be used with cabinetry to showcase marketing materials as well. Plus, in a trade show display environment, the utility of counters and workspaces is important. You paid a lot of money for your space, you need to use every square inch! You'll also find that these undercabinet lights can facilitate better communication with visitors. And that’s the most important thing, right?

Uplighting is also important and can provide a soft, indirect source of light. Included in this group would be the torchiere, spotlight, sconce, and ceiling fans with lighting. To avoid annoying eye glare, position the lighting fixtures so they shine light up onto the ceiling. Sconces can be specifically utilized to highlight marketing literature and graphical elements of the booth. Use a torchiere to direct ambient light upward and to provide some key accent lighting.

The overall goal with trade show lighting? To bring visual interest to your display and booth. With the proper mix, your booth will have more character, personality and just look better than the rest. At a trade show, it's important to stand out, so make sure you do!

Church Lighting

When people think about lights - they rarely consider a church setting. After all, can't you just turn on the house lights and be done with it? If you want a typical worship experience, then the answer is yes. But, if you want to make each mass or service a memorable one, the finer elements of stage lighting can be employed. You can even use color variations to create a special atmosphere for the overall experience. And of course, during Christmas and Easter services, you'll want to step it up by using candle lighting and general mood lighting to create a memorable moments. It's no doubt that stage lighting can add dramatic effect to any worship service or production.

For most church settings, the main goal is to draw attention to the altar or pulpit area. The congregation will undoubtedly hear the message and the music, but can they see the expressions of those conducting the service?  Stage lighting equipment brings new life to the worship experience.
