"Lighting is such a critical aspect of theatre, and we are proud to give back to the hard-working designers with whom we work."
Leigh Allen is a Los Angeles-based lighting designer. Some of her work includes: Champagne (Regent Cruise Lines), Shimmy! (Princess Cruise Lines), Snoopy on Ice (J. Schultz), Beauty and the Beast (Musical Theater West), Death of a Salesman (Pacific Resident Theatre), The Red Road (Native Voices), Killer Joe (Ovation Award: Production of the Year), The Fab Four (South Bay CLO), The Prince of LA (The Old Globe in San Diego), and Vincent in Brixton (Pasadena Playhouse).
Allen's broad experience also includes an independent film based on Johnny Got His Gun and work with numerous schools, including Lutheran High School of Orange, Orange County High School of the Arts, Shalhevet School, and Temple City High School as well as a few colleges and universities. She received an award last year from LA Weekly for Johnny Got His Gun and is nominated this year for Bug.
The Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle was founded in 1969. It is dedicated to excellence in theatrical criticism and the encouragement and improvement of theatre in Greater Los Angeles. The membership consists of critics reviewing theatres for a variety of websites, radio stations, newspapers and magazines.
