Angstrom Award Recipient Announced

Hollywood, CA – March 22, 2010 – Angstrom Lighting today announced that the 2009 Angstrom Award for Lifetime Achievement in Lighting Design will be presented by the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle. The $1,000 cash award, which recognizes career achievement in lighting design, will be presented to Luke Moyer during the 41st annual Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle awards ceremony this evening, March 22, at the Colony Theatre in Burbank.

"One of our great pleasures every year is to be able to applaud and support the talent and creativity of outstanding lighting designers such as Luke Moyer," said Frans Klinkenberg, former president & CEO of Angstrom Lighting. Angstrom Washes the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Color

Hollywood, CA – December 4, 2008 – Angstrom Lighting is proud to announce the completion of Phase I of an exciting exterior lighting design at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. This first phase involved the installation of 14 Color Kinetics ColorGraze Powercore and two ColorBlast 6 units. The second phase, which will be completed in early 2009, will include 14 additional ColorGraze lights and an overall treatment on the outside patio. The final result will provide complete color control of the building's façade, allowing for greater creativity and glamour for this famous hotel.

The Beverly Wilshire, a Four Seasons Hotel, is a well-known Los Angeles landmark and Hollywood hangout. It was featured in the 1990 movie Pretty Woman, and stars including Warren Beatty, Elvis Presley and John Lennon have called its Penthouse home.

Angstrom Lights Up Santa Monica College's New Theatre

Hollywood, CA – September 19, 2008 – Angstrom Lighting is proud to announce its involvement in Santa Monica College's new, state-of-the-art Eli and Edythe Broad Stage, which is scheduled to open September 20, 2008. The $40 million facility includes a 500-seat theatre for instruction and performances and will house the college's music department while providing a new, cutting-edge cultural arts venue for Los Angeles.

Angstrom Lighting provided and installed all of the stage lighting instruments, including Sea Changer Color Changers, Varilite VL 500Ds, Phoebus Titan follow spots, a Rosco portable dance floor and a full complement of ETC conventional lighting fixtures. Angstrom Lighting will also provide additional technical support as needed.

Angstrom Lighting Provides Fright Through Light

Hollywood, CA – October 27, 2006 – Angstrom Lighting today announced that it provided the lights for Universal Studios Hollywood's first-ever Halloween Horror Nights. Because it takes place during darkness and is filled with haunted walk-through attractions and nightmare-inducing rides, shows and attractions, lighting was very important to the event. Clayton Alexander of Radiance Lightworks created the design using lights provided by Angstrom Lighting.

Radiance Lightworks' talented team created diverse designs using hundreds of lights in each area of the Halloween Horror Nights event. The lights assisted in transforming rides like "WaterWorld," "Jurassic Park," and "Revenge of the Mummy" and adding drama to the themed streets and standing sets in the park.

The only program of its kind on the West Coast, this year\'s curriculum expands upon the success of Angstrom University in 2005. With more than 20 new courses, all-day workshops and hands-on participation, Angstrom Lighting continues with its mission to educate lighting professionals with training from industry leaders and experts. Classes take place on most Saturdays between October 7, 2006 and April 28, 2007.

Angstrom University classes are available for all levels of lighting enthusiast—from the novice to the experienced professional. Instructors are industry experts who are currently active in their area of instruction. All classes feature both lecture instruction and hands-on workshops that enable students to actively participate in their education. Angstrom Lighting puts YouTHeatre America! in the Spotlight

Hollywood, CA – August 9, 2006 – Angstrom Lighting today announced that it is providing the lighting equipment for a special concert performance of Jesus Christ Superstar at the Montalban Theatre in Hollywood, California on August 13 to benefit YouTHeatre America! The Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice musical is being directed by Gary Goddard of Gary Goddard Entertainment, with lighting design by Rick Belzer, founder of Big Apple Lights and Belzer Design International.

"This production invented the term "Rock Opera Lighting," says Belzer, "because it requires 3 styles of lighting: Theatrical, Opera and Rock and Roll. That's what makes it challenging and fun, and that's why I came to Angstrom Lighting; I know I can count on Frans and his team for this kind of expansive production."

Angstrom Lighting Awarded Contract to Brighten Los Angeles International Airport

Hollywood, CA – May 9, 2006 – Angstrom Lighting today announced that it was awarded a contract to update the pylon lighting system at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The company will supply more than 2,000 state-of-the-art Color Kinetics ColorBlast fixtures that will improve the quality of the pylons' appearance and decrease energy costs.

The main entry points at LAX are marked by 11 variable height pylons in the median of Century Boulevard and 15 pylons at the intersection of Century and Sepulveda Boulevards. The pylons vary in width from six to 12 feet and in height from 25 to 60 feet and are covered in tempered, frosted glass. They were completed in August 2000 using metal halide fixtures with color changers, which created a distinctive artistic signature for LAX.

Angstrom University Lights Up This Summer

Hollywood, CA – April 27, 2005 – Angstrom Lighting announced today that the company will be launching ANGSTROM UNIVERSITY beginning June 4, 2005.

The programs will be held at Angstrom Lighting in Hollywood, California and will include both beginning and advanced-level courses throughout the summer.

In addition to theatrical and dance lighting design, there will also be classes in such diverse areas as architectural lighting design, Whole Hog and Express programming, introduction to live audio, intellectual property law and more. Instructors will be some of the industry's greatest luminaries.

ANGSTROM UNIVERSITY will be the culmination of months of preparation and organization. "We could not be happier with the response we've received from both our instructors and our prospective students," said Frans Klinkenberg, former owner and CEO of Angstrom Lighting. "Everyone is very excited about the project.
